Mt. PISCO (18,871 ft. / 5,752 m) – CORDILLERA BLANCA


Mt. Pisco is located in heart of the Cordillera Blanca, exactly in Huandoy Massif. Summit  with 360° great view and surrounded by the principal mountains of Cordillera Blanca: Huandoys, Caraz Chain, Alpamayo, Artesonraju, Parón, Chacraraju, Yanapaccha, Chopicalqui, Huascaran South and North, Contrahierbas and others.

Mountain considered technically easy ascent / climb in Cordillera Blanca. Its technical conditions and its wonderful summit view; attracts many mountaineers to spend part-time, enjoying and climbing it.

FIRST ASCENT: 12 July, 1 951, by C. Kogan, R. Leininger and M. Lenoir; now known as the Normal Route.
SEASON: May to October.
DIFFICULTY: Usually F (Easy – Fácil), some years PD (Little Difficult – Peu Difficile).
SET CAMPS: Base Camp (15,255 ft / 4,650 m) and Optional Moraine Camp (16,240 ft / 4,950 m).

Day 1: Huaraz - Hike to Pisco Base Camp (5,650m).
Day 2: Pisco summit climb (5,754m).
Day 3: Return to Huaraz - Hike to 69 Lake & Cabollapampa.
